Christmas in New York

As it begins to feel 'a lot like Christmas', I am thinking of and missing New York. I was there for a Christmas past - last year at the most 'wonderful time of year' during the...as New Yorkers would say 'Happy Holidays'! Celebrating and getting lost in its gorgeous winter wonderland. Here are a few of the things I love and miss most about being in New York this time of year.

The stores and streets come alive, decorated and wrapped....literally every place you shop and look. Now that's attention to detail.

Ice skating at Bryant Park, drinking warm apple cider while browsing their Christmas Markets - shops filled with decorations aplenty!

Shopping at Bloomingdale's, Anthropologie, Kate Spade, Barnes & Nobles, Urban Outfitters, Xmas markets and cute stationary and craft stores in Greenwich, Soho and Brooklyn.

Oh! the stunning window Christmas displays.
Seeing a Starbucks...

Cute woodland creatures...
Streets lined with Christmas tree shops on every corner!

Cosy diners, cafes and restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Candy stores and patisseries that will make your eyes pop and belly rumble in anticipated delight.
Strolls around the breathtaking Central Park...

and feeling like Kevin in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. Hello the Plaza Hotel.

The bridge where Kevin sees the 'Bird lady'.

Location where the 'wet/sticky bandits' (Marv and Harry) are arrested at the end of the film. Yep! I am totally into finding movie locations when I travel.
Let's not forget the Rockefeller Center while we are at it.
 Make a wish!

Last, the view from the Empire State Building!

And watch it change green and red for Christmas.
There was soooo much more I could of included in this post. Every year I will remember and think about the most wonderful time when I spent Christmas in New York. If you don't already live there and are planning to make a trip to one of the worlds most cheeriest travel locations during your 'Happy Holidays', hope you enjoyed this post!
